MEMMAKER
Description
Optimizes the memory on a 386 or above computer by moving device drivers and TSRs to upper memory.
Command Syntax
MEMMAKER [/b] [/batch] [/session] [/swap:drive] [/t] [/undo]
[/w:size1, size2]
-
/b starts MemMaker in black and white
-
/batch runs MemMaker in batch mode and gives default answers to its questions.
-
/session is used only by MemMaker and can be ignored
-
/swap:drive specifies that the startup drive letter has changed
since booting the computer. This is only useful with very old disk compressors,
and not Double Space, DriveSpace, SuperStor or Stacker 2+.
-
/t disables detection of IBM Token Ring networks
-
/undo undoes the most recent changes MemMaker made to your configuration
files
-
/w:size1, size2 specifies how much space shuld be left to reserve
for Windows translation buffers. size1 is the amount of memory for
the first buffer area and size2 is the amount for the second.
Comments
MemMaker does a fairly good job, but others, such as QEMM (from Quarterdeck
Systems) or Netroom, tend to do a better job.
